The senior team is made up of a Manager and 4 Senior Nurses – 2 full time and 2 part time, so that we have one senior on every day shift along with an RGN Nurse and a team of care staff – the number of carers depends on the resident number at the time. All nurses work weekends on a rotating basis  and we accommodate personal requests made in advance for time off whenever we can. The Nurse on duty also line manages and directs the work of the care staff on the shift.

The night shift is covered by dedicated night staff with one nurse and 2 care assistants on every night. Day staff are not expected to work nights and vice versa but if we require emergency cover we may ask for volunteers as long as this doesn’t create a risk to staff due to inadequate rest breaks between shifts being possible.

Care Assistants are required to be qualified to at least NVQ2 and to have at least 2 years post qualification experience of caring for older people prior to joining our team. We look for very high standards of care and attention provided to our residents with gentleness and compassion. In recognition of this high standard we offer an attractive salary and excellent terms and conditions.

We have a limited opportunity for upto 2 Trainee Carers on our staff at one time and we offer support and mentoring to suitable applicants to become NVQ2 qualified. Further details are available at this link.

We have a team of dedicated catering staff led by the Cook in Charge. Cooks work a rotating shift and are required to cover weekends to cater for 3 meals a day. Catering staff are well trained and produce lovely food to cater for a range of special diets. The Cooks lead the catering team on shift when the Cook in Charge is off and they are responsible for the quality of the food and health and safety in the kitchen.

Dining Room Assistants and Kitchen Assistants support the cooks in the kitchen and help residents with their meals as well as Care staff to ensure they have enough time dedicated to help them to eat well.

The site is very well maintained by our site manager and the domestic team and who keep the house clean and fresh. We are committed to regular redecoration and replacement of furniture and carpets to ensure the home environment stays in good order resulting in a light, modern yet homely residence. The grounds are well tended to provide a lovely place to walk and relax during break times.
